Reinforce

Reinforce is a self advocacy group run by and for people with an intellectual disability. It is one of the longest running self advocacy groups in Australia!

Reinforce works to make sure that people with a disability have the same rights and opportunities as anyone else in the community. The group is passionate about the rights of people living in group homes. As part of the Shut In campaign, Reinforce has advocated to successfully shut down institutions over the years and wants to see all institutions in Australia closed.

Reinforce participates in many different things to support people with an intellectual disability and promote human rights. For example:

• Running Coffee Mornings with guest speakers
• Running social and art clubs
• Making awareness raising DVDs, books, training kits
• Providing education, training and consultation about self advocacy to government and service providers, and the community, including group homes

Get in touch to sign up for our newsletter, become a member, or to get some training about self advocacy at your organisation!

The group meets once a month.
